Seva and Abhishek

Seva or selfless service is a service which is performed without any expectation of result or award for performing it. Such services can be performed to benefit other human beings or society.

Abhishek, the ritual bathing and washing of deities/statues whilst chanting various mantras, is a way of demonstrating reverence for the divine in some of its many expressions and manifestations.

Abhishek at the Brisbane Shakti Meditation and Yoga Centre usually takes place on a Sunday afternoon. Come and experience the unique ‘shakti filled’ atmosphere and enjoy the sweet fragrance of rose and orange water as we honour the divine and in doing so purify ourselves.
